Description

The “Audiovisual Mass Media Business Communications Guidelines” was presented in December 2021 and in February 2022 were put into force by Peyman Jebelli, the Head of the IRIB. It sets the regulations for the Audiovisual Regulatory Authority ( SATRA).

Effects

SATRA operates under the supervision of the IRIB, which is supervised by the Supreme Leader. This organization was established in 2016 in an attempt to monitor all online audio and video content published in Iran. In fact, this organization performs a similar role to the Ministry of Islamic Guidance in relation to online content.

Online content producers such as filmmakers, and even ordinary users or influencers, ultimately fall under the supervision of this organization.
